Your decision on where to take your first professional job can set the tone for all your future positions. At ADF we are committed to making your first job experience as enjoyable and developmental as possible. We value the academic knowledge you bring and are eager to show you how to apply it to solve our client’s problems.

Competitive pay and benefits

In today’s competitive job market, ADF recognizes that if you want the best people, you must pay them at or above market and offer a diverse array of benefits—and we do! We utilize bonus programs to reward excellent work. We also structure our time-off policies to help you achieve the work/life balance you want.

Enjoy variety

Doing the same thing over and over again can be boring. You will never be bored at ADF because you will work on projects from all sorts of clients such as agriculture, the food supply chain, and pharmaceuticals to name a few. ADF specializes in small to medium projects so there is always something new to work on.

Expand your knowledge

You will learn not only about your engineering or design discipline, but all the specialty areas of Mechanical, Process, Structural and Electrical engineering, and design and how they come together to deliver solutions to our clients. You will also learn about safety standards, project management, and the unique aspects of Consulting Engineering including working with clients. You may also want to broaden your understanding of engineering and design to include management and operations through our Leadership Development Group to give you a comprehensive and balanced understanding of how an engineering company works.

See the results of your work from beginning to end

At beginning of a project, you may take laser-measurements of existing space and “walk it down” to really understand the project with you own eyes. You may make site visits to check on the progress of your project. Ultimately, you can make a site visit to see how your ideas and engineering and design skills have been implemented to solve the client’s problems.

Use the latest engineering and design software

Use 3D laser scanning and working in 3D virtual space. You will work with other engineers and designers who are experts in the software for their respective fields, such as 2D and 3D AutoCAD and Revit.

ADF is committed to help you on the career path

You define your path for yourself, such as getting your Professional Engineer License (PE) or becoming certified in Project Management. We also will support you in your continuing professional education or attaining another degree and can help you pay off college debt.

Don’t be pigeon-holed

In big companies you may become an expert in a narrow field but may not be able to branch out and understand the full scope of engineering and design. You may not be able to collaborate with professionals across the organization. This is not the case at ADF. You will gain a comprehensive knowledge of all the engineering, design, and project management resources it takes to satisfy the needs of our clients.

Do truly creative work

While different projects may have similarities, each one is also unique. It takes your creativity and problem-solving skills to get the job done because every project is different.

At ADF, we hire the most capable professionals to become a part of our engineering team.

But once you join ADF, your career development is just beginning.  We support and encourage your professional development not only in engineering but also in operations, management, and leadership.

Leadership Development

One way we develop talent is through our Leadership Development program.

In Leadership Development we examine and discuss the differences between management and leadership, and use assessments to identify your strengths, interests, and communication style.

These discussions will help you decide if you want to steer your career more towards the project or operational management, focus on straight engineering, or perhaps manage a technical department. You decide where you want to steer your career and ADF will help you get there.

In addition to assessments, Leadership Development provides the indirect benefits of a better understanding of the communication styles of your colleagues, their strengths, what is important to them, and how to persuasively express your opinion.

This understanding and awareness will help you and the Team to function more effectively, optimize your influence, and broaden your knowledge of the Human Resources side of the company.

Leadership Development is also fun; it’s not all work! ADF provides support for after-work networking, social gatherings, and team sports, all with the goal of forming a cohesive team that understands and supports each other.

Leadership Development is just one important way ADF supports your professional development and to have fun along the way.

Employee Testimonials

At ADF, you never run out of room to grow professionally. Graduating out of college, my primary goal was to work for an employer where I can acquire as much knowledge as I can in my professional field, and I can say that this is being accomplished by working at ADF, where you also become a licensed professional in only a couple of years.

I love working for this company and would like to keep on contributing and learning as long as I feel valued.

I joined ADF Engineering as a Structural Engineer in 2021 after graduate school. ADF Engineering appealed to me because of the type of projects we specialize in which are different from anything I had ever seen in an academic setting.

Each project requires outside the box thinking which allows me to challenge myself on a daily basis and the work environment is extremely supportive. I love being a part of the ADF Engineering team!
